Dear Prospective Franchisee:

In the spring of 2008, I opened a College Pro Painters franchise in my hometown of Bozeman, Montana.  I knew that my degree alone would not suffice, and that I needed something to give me the edge to be competitive once I graduated.  So, I took a chance on running a franchised business.

It obviously worked out.  This letter you are reading is one of a strong recommendation to those few qualified individuals considering an attempt at collegiate entrepreneurialism.  College Pro Painters will prepare you for the business world in ways no other summer experience could; it will also prepare you in ways no university could.

Every day I draw upon skills learned in my three years as a CPP franchisee.  Skills you will develop include:

  • Professional Sales
  • Multi-Faceted Marketing
  • Small Business Budgeting
  • Accounting and Payroll
  • Recruiting and Management
  • Employee and Customer Relations
  • General Business Operations

Along the way you will encounter many speed bumps, but don’t get discouraged.  The rewards in the end are well worth the sacrifice.

Today, I am in the IT industry and I have moved from a Recruiter to an Account Recruiting Manager at the world’s largest IT Staffing and Services company focused on Microsoft, Amazon, T-Mobile, Starbucks, and Disney to name a few of the giants.  With the support of my management and peers, College Pro helped me learn what it takes to be successful in achieving my goals.  I’ve been blessed in many ways and truly believe that, without College Pro, I would not be in the same position.

If you are considering running a College Pro Painters franchise, give it lots of thought because it will be the toughest business experience you will have faced at this stage of your life.  Know though, that if you work hard (and smart) at your painting business, you will succeed.  Once you succeed at running your own business, the sky’s the limit.

Best wishes,
Scott Shay
